All right lady’s and gentleman, it is time for Edmonton’s first (at least to my knowledge) tweed ride. We want to get this first ride in our best dress clothes before the heat of the summer has you wanting to wear nothing but hotpants and tanktops. So all you dashing wearers of tweed and other such fancy clothes can meet us on the 24th of May in the grassy field behind the administrative building at our city’s lovely university, also known as the “quad”. The ride starts at 7 so please get there a bit earlier.
This will be a social ride with a bit of style. The proper attire for this ride will of course be expected. We will be taking a leisurely ride through the city and will be stopping for mid-ride fortitude and cheer.

(Taken from London’s tweed ride)
Suggested attire: woollen plus fours, harris tweed jackets, flat caps, fair isle jumpers, alpaca coats, merino wool team jerseys, cycling skirts and perhaps a jaunty cape for the ladies, cravats or ties for gentlemen, and of course a hip flask of brandy.

Be sure to dress with a bit of panache, I am trying to work out some prizes for:

Most dapper chap
Most dashing dame
Award for most civilized behavior on the day
